So I saw a cricket crawling on the wall out the corner of my eye. I may or may not have gasped, I certainly didn’t shriek.

I thought it was a spider but it wasn’t, so I didn’t get confrontational.¬†

Then I saw it crawling on the ceiling. Then I looked away, and now it’s gone and I can’t see it and it could be anywhere.

no touching no touching no touching no touching no touching

no touching

I felt foggy

like the windshield of a car

shaking with shaggers in the backseat

Some chords struck my ears

Some chords throbbed against my scull

And some chords danced across the hairs of my arm

invisible and tickling like a spiderweb

I felt foggy

I felt breath and I felt sound

But I didn’t feel anyone
